Modular Kitchens

We at iHome Masters understands that a modular kitchen is a trend in modern homes. A well-designed kitchen offers a seamless cooking experience. There are several layers of cabinets in a modular kitchen design that hold the appliances, giving the kitchen space an organized look. In the modular style of kitchen, the cabinets placed on the floor over PVC legs are called base cabinets combined with upper wall cabinets and optional upper loft cabinets.

The appliances are kept on the modular kitchen cabinets once the kitchen counter-top is laid out. The kitchen worktop is generally made of granite, quartz, or other options available in the market. Apart from base cabinets, wall units are also an integral part of the modular kitchen project.

The perfect kitchen space is to be dry and spacious. The creating more functional space is of primary concern to ensure proper protection during cooking and to prevent contamination of food.

 

Understanding Costs

The cost of a modular kitchen is decided through three main decisions apart from the obvious size or quantity of the woodwork involved.

Cabinets Carcass & Shutters

Material are the stuff that provides strength, durability and class. Ranging from low cost particle board (which is famously known as “engineered wood” and used by top brands) to MDF, HDF, HDHMR, MR Plywood, BWP Marine Plywood and WPC this can vary. High end kitchens could also be made using complete solid wood.
We ideally recommend HDHMR/MR or BWP Plywood for Cabinet carcass and HDHMR for Shutters for a superior finish.

Type of "Finish" for the shutters

We all are familiar with laminate (Sunmica) with Gloss or Suede finish. You may have also heard of acrylic and lacquer glass finish shutters for kitchens.
Other finishes are PU (duco), veneers, melamine, polyester (also called polycoat or lamination).
For a superior finish we recommend you go for premium UNI MR+ Tuff Gloss laminates, UV or acrylic to add a lot of richness.

What hardware you plan to have in your modular kitchen
By hardware, we mean your hinges and channels (Soft-Close or Normal), Innotech/Tandem Box pullouts, baskets and other fittings. These can vary from basic stainless steel baskets like Bottle Pull Out (BPO), cutlery, thali, Cup & Saucer, GTPT etc.
High end Innotech or Tandem box pullouts are used for adding class to the kitchen.
There are plenty of famous brands like Hafele, Hettich, Inox, Ebco etc with own individual fittings which can be worked with.
We recommend soft close shutters with a minimum of 5 pullouts for cutlery, spice, plates (thali) etc. to give a good function and look to your kitchen.

Basically modular wardrobes are segmented units which are made to order; customized and then assembled to fit to customer's need. Our bedrooms usually have two main furniture, bed and wardrobe.

There are plenty of famous brands like Hafele, Hettich, Ebco etc with premium hardware which can be worked with.
